Liber Malorum - Chapter 42 - The Tree
By seani fool on Jun 27, 2010 | In Paganarchy, Publishing, magick, Liberty, occulture, Liber Malorum | Send feedback »
Time to release another chapter of Liber Malorum!! This chapter, The Tree was written by good friend and fellow adventurer Lilah Lilith. I first met Lilah at an convergence of Pagan activists in London in 2004 and have been good friends ever since. The release of The Tree coincides with Lilah's tour of Europe with another occultist Orryelle Defenestrate-Bascule (another Liber Malorum contributor, whose story we will hopefully release on to the world one day soon).
Lilah Lilith will be running a workshop on Tantric Alchemy in Brighton on July 3rd and I'll post more information about that shortly.
Unimpeded Apple Tree

Hello apple lovers!
I thought I'd write a quick note about Liber Malorum's subtitle, which you may have seen is Children Of The Apple.

Where exactly does this subtitle come from?
For a start, Children Of The Apple is one, but is not the only literal translation of the Latin words, "Liber Malorum". That's right! As outlined in the prologue which I posted on my blog there are in fact several possible translations.
Liber, in Latin has at least three different and useful meanings:
- Children Of (Noun, Pl)
- Book Of (Noun)
- Unimpeded (Adj.)
Malorum on the other hand also has at least three useful translations:
- Evil (Adj.)
- Apples (Noun, PL)
- Apple Tree (Noun, Singular)
Now this is all well and fine, and you can easily chop and change! Next time you pick up the book, take a moment to decide if you're really reading Children Of The Apple as the subtitle suggests.
Instead of Children Of The Apple, you could decide to be reading an altogether different book. How about picking one of Unimpeded Evil, Book of the Apple Tree, Children of Evil or even Unimpeded Apples.
One of my favourite translations is The Book Of Evil, just because it sounds fun, and well, following your truth even when your truth breaks the established status quo can be seen by outsiders as an "evil" thing to do. But when you're in that spiritual place, following your core truth even against the grain of established authority there's that inner feeling of total freedom and power and love. Thelemites would say this is where they are following their True Will.
I'm not really a Latin speaker, so if some of the puns in the title slipped you by, that's okay, I just thought it would be fun at the time! It's the biting of the apple which is really important. Have you bitten one today?
Hope everything is wonderful out there for you. Feel free to read the prologue and table of contents in full.
And if you're up to it, please leave a comment ![]()
Love to all from Sean
Liber Malorum - Chapter 66 - Pneumonia
By seani fool on Nov 16, 2009 | In Paganarchy, Publishing, magick, occulture, Liber Malorum | Send feedback »
Hello one and all. It's time to release another chapter of Liber Malorum!!
This chapter, Pneumonia was written by myself and is one of the weaving fabrics of the overall Liber Malorum tapestry - what do I mean by that? Well if you've been following my blog at all, you'll know that each of the 72 chapters in Liber Malorum are stand-alone reads, as well each being an essential fabric of the whole work that is Liber Malorum.
The Pneumonia chapter is also the last appearance in the book of the character Helene who appears a number of times previously. Helene is a favourite amongst psychonauts, SMers and dykes, in that order ![]()
I haven't been posting the chapters from Liber Malorum in numeric order, but as they become relevant in my day to day life. Well currently there are a whole number of people discussing the Mayan prophecies of 2012. Is it the end of time like some predict? Or just an ordinary year in the Gregorian calendar...
Well I don't really answer that question in Pneumonia, but I do discuss how 2012 might be useful to the spiritual and pagan and activist communities.
Happy reading!

From here you can also see previous chapter releases or even order your own copy ![]()

David Rankine reviews Liber Malorum
By seani fool on Nov 12, 2009 | In Paganarchy, Reviews, Publishing, magick, occulture, Liber Malorum, Chaos Magic | Send feedback »
David Rankine, author of many fine books including Becoming Magick, Climbing the Tree Of Life and Practical Planetary Magick (co-authored with the lovely Sorita D'Este) has written a very positive review of Liber Malorum.
Here's an excerpt of it:
Bernadette (or burn many if they are mounting up faster than your ability to pay them) is the patsy, the eye of reason exposed to the horned serpent selling sex, drugs, magick and music from the garden stall. She is the straight woman providing mundane rationality as a piece of malleable plasticine for the plethora of authors to tease into bizarre and fantastic shapes. This book is a literary psychedelic with special guest appearances from the good, the bad and the ugly.
I enjoyed this book and seriously suggest you give it a try.
Read the rest of the review on the the Esoteric Book Review website.
Go on.
hugs to all from Sean

Hello all you Children of the Apple out there!
Time for another Liber Malorum - Children Of The Apple chapter release. I've decided not to do them in sequential order, but to release them in the order that events unfold in my life. Without revealing too much of my inner world here, the next chapter I'm putting out into the world is Chapter 57 - Do You Want To Believe? - by Frater Carfax. This magnificent story has many hidden facets to it, not least of which are hidden behind the lead two characters' names.
Barry Salkilld Joins The Stars

Do What Thou Wilt Shall Be The Whole Of The Law.
Oh dear. I just had word that my first real occult teacher has passed to the other side and so I thought I'd write a few words to honour him, and my memory of my time under his tutelage.
Barry Salkilld, known as Frater C.D. was the founding member and Imperator (leader) of the Order of the Golden Phoenix, which was abbreviated into O.P.A. being the initials of the Latin name of the Order. Barry was a very headstrong man, down-to-earth yet noble to the point of being a damned annoying bastard at times.
I first came to the O.P.A. at age 21 on recommendation by a member of my family when I wanted to start investigating the unseen forces that existed in the world. I had been brought up vaguely Jewish but a strong curious mind soon had me testing and exploring other religious systems and traditions. It only took a couple of phone calls and soon I was off to the venue in Summer Hill known to me then only as The Abbey.

Liber Malorum - Chapter 3 - Oath of the Conscious Metanoid by Nathaniel Harris
By seani fool on Oct 21, 2008 | In Paganarchy, Publishing, magick, Liber Malorum | 3 feedbacks »
Hello all, it's time for another chapter release!
Regular readers of this blog will know I'm slowly releasing Liber Malorum - children of the Apple onto the web for all to read and it's time for another chapter - Oath of the Conscious Metanoid by Nathaniel Harris - to be set free.
I've previously released only shorter chunks of the book, but here is the first full-length story that appears within Liber Malorum. I put this story in early as it really packs a punch and introduces some pretty interesting concepts. Oath of the Conscious Metanoid presents readers with their first opportunity to join the Order of the Imaginary Conspiracy. Dare you?
Nathaniel Harris is a multimedia artist with over 23 years experience in sorcery, witchcraft, and magick. A strong willed individual who cannot abide hypocrisy or obsequious office seeing, he generally steers clear of anyone who claims to be a part of the wider (non-existent, according to Nathaniel) 'occult community'. His work may be found at;

Oracle Occult Magazine reviews Liber Malorum

Sara Mulryan from the fantastic Oracle Occult magazine has just reviewed Liber Malorum in the latest issue 9. Wow, I'm well chuffed with what she had to say about it! Read on:
If your answer is no, please, read no further.”
Oath of the Conscious Metanoid
by Nathaniel J. Harris in Liber Malorum
So, just how do you begin to describe the Liber Malorum – is it a journey, an initiation, a revelation and an introduction to the mysteries? Could it be a ‘how-to’ manual; how-to join a cult, how-to clown, how-to renew your life, how-to lose your mind? Is it a collective of 23 cutting edge magickians, sorcerers and witches whose writing and life experiences have been woven together by a crazed fool into an 7th dimensional tapestry?
Is it a portal through which the innocent bystander can glimpse the workings behind the dashboard, gain a view of The Work at the edge of comprehension?
ENTERTAINING FICTION?
Introduction to Pagan Activism

I'm in the process of collecting all my various writings from various scenes (occult, pagan, activist, clown, BDSM) and putting them here on my blog.
Well, many moons ago (in 2004) the European Social Forum was in London. Adrian Harris (founder of the Dragon Network) and I put together a little text called "An Introduction To Pagan Activism".
Cthulhu versus Rubik's Cube at 23 Centres
By seani fool on Jul 7, 2008 | In Ranting, magick | Send feedback »
I thought that headline would grab your attention!
The hunt is now on to find Cthulhoid agents in our seas. Scientists, under the guise of conducting innocent experiments, are now gearing up to raise Cthulhu from the depths of the ocean and the depths of our collective subconscious.
I quote:
Twenty-five octopuses will today begin twiddling a Rubik's Cube in the name of scientific research.
Marine biologists concede they have little hope of the eight-limbed sea molluscs solving the fiendish plastic puzzle. Instead, the month-long project at 23 Sea Life Centres across Britain and Europe will examine octopus intelligence in an attempt to discover if they have a favourite tentacle for picking things up – much as humans are right or left-handed.
Insider information (that won't be published in any report!) reveals that it is not just Rubik's Cubes that will be lowered into the tanks, but also various water-safe versions of the Necronomicon. If one of the octopii can manage to either solve the cube, or immanentize the eschaton, it will be a massive year for Cthulhoids the world over.
Take hope great Cthulhu-lover! Our eight-legged water bound (distant) cousins are unlikely to fall for the bait and summon any of the great old ones... Nor are they likely to solve all-blue on the Cube. Light one red and one black candle and you will remain safe.

Hello all, how are you doing?
After last week's release of the Liber Malorum prologue, readers of this blog and elsewhere have been asking for more samples.
Well here it is. After asking the man himself, I'm now releasing Chapter 1 - The Orchard Of Becoming - by Frater Kaotec.
Kaotec is a fellow founding member of the HYDRA coven and a good friend of mine. He is one of five contributors that have more than one story within Liber Malorum and he is a genuine Child Of The Apple.
Since writing "The Orchard Of Becoming" he has released his own title on the Templars and a secret history of British occultism. Writing as "Stephen J Ash", The Black Knights was released on the 700th anniversary of the demise of the Templars. Go and check out if this sounds intriguing to you.
Kaotec lives in London and maintains an occultural blog here.

I was really chuffed to see Amazon has made Liber Malorum the "perfect partner" to the Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea. Wow! The Illuminatus Trilogy is my all-time favourite book!
Snoopy Dance!
Someone at Amazon must have read Liber Malorum and really got into it. I just wish they'd got around to stocking it! Any day now...
