Sydney Indymedia has finally finally launched the new site! Moving on from the Active codebase which was actually the 1st ever indymedia platform to go live, Sydney IMC software became dated as more software enhancements were required. The original software designers had a very wondeful open-publishing ethic but they did not foresee the horrors of Trolling when they wrote it back in 1999.
Step up the new IMC Sydney crew who have been tinkering with the Drupal CMS since September 2004. During this time I've pretty much dropped out of the collective as I haven't actually lived in Sydney for over 4 years. But I am so uber pleased that this project has finally come to fruition!
The codebase as prepased by the team includes much more efficient hiding, administration, gui editing, categorisation, blogging, user accounts, a news aggregator and a whole host of other essential features!
Congrats to all the team - Cam, Stacy, Andy, BJ, Michael, Waz and many others - well done!
